On Wednesday, Chinese President Xi Jinping ordered the armed forces to strengthen training in actual combat conditions. He also emphasized to increase their ability to win the war. The Communist Party of China plans to make the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of equal capacity with the US Army by 2027.
Recently, the Chinese president emphasized that if the PLA wants to transform itself into a modern warfare force, to be at par with other leading powers, it should adopt state-of-the-art techniques like artificial intelligence.
The 67-year-old Xi heads the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC). He has long held the post of president. Xi is also the chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC). It is the highest command in the country with a force of 2 million troops.
As per the reports from the Xinhua news agency, in the CMC meeting Xi stressed on strengthening the army for the new phase. He also talked about applying the party’s ideology on military strategy. Xi’s statements have come at a time when there has been a deadlock on the Indo-China border in eastern Ladakh for more than six months.
