This story is about a World Karate Champion from India. Hari Om Shukla lives in Mathura. He brought glory to India by winning several gold medals with his hard work and dedication.
However, now Hari Om is forced to sell tea on road side. He is facing severe financial crunch due to the government’s neglect. To support his family Hari Om Shukla had to set up a tea stall on the road.
Hariom is originally from Choti Kosi of Mathura. His family has been living in Ishapur, Yamunapar since 2013. He was born on August 28, 1993 in a colony located in Yamunapar. After studying class 10th and 12th from Chaudhary Badan Singh College, Baldev, completed his post-graduation from JS University, Shikohabad.
Hari Om started karate from Mathura in the year 2006 under the banner of Traditional Suuto Koi Karate Federation of India. Then he won the International title in 2008 at Andheri Sports Complex, Mumbai. After that Hari Om Shukla did not look back. He won many titles in karate competition.
60 Medals So Far
Hari Om brought the country’s name to fame by winning the first gold medal in Kathmandu in 2008 and 2010. Then he won gold in Pattaya, Thailand in 2013. He also won a silver in 2013 in Thailand itself. His second silver in the International 2015 was in the US. Hari got the first senior gold in Sri Lanka and the second open silver. So far Hari Om has won around 60 medals including gold, silver and bronze. He also won the world champion medal.
Even after winning so many medals, Hari Om Shukla has to sell tea to feed his family. Hari Om says that he also appeared in the court for help. In the SP government, he met the then CM Akhilesh Yadav and demanded government help and jobs.
He has pleaded to everyone, from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to Regional MP Hema Malini. Hari Om also went to State Energy Minister Shrikant Sharma and MLA Puran Prakash of the area. He hoped of getting some help from the government. But so far, he has only received assurances in the name of help.
