Farmers’ protest sites at Delhi borders are witnessing people from across the country. Further, several Khap representatives have reached there. However, after huge uproar the accounts were back online.
On 3rd February, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait will visit Jind. He will be asking people for support of the farmer movement. Farmers wrote a letter to Anna Hazare demanding him to join the movement. This happened on the Khatkad toll. Farmer’s crowd had increased on the Kundli border of Sonipat. Farmers are continuously reaching from Haryana and Punjab. On the other hand, advocates from Punjab-Haryana High Court and former police employees staged a sit-in protest on Monday. They expressed their solidarity in support of farmers in Punjab. At the same time, people raised slogans against Deep Sidhu. The panchayats also passed a resolution against Delhi violence accused Lakha Sidhana.
In Bathinda, Dal Khalsa, Shiromani Akali Dal organised a foot rally. Other participants included Punjabi Maa Boli Sathikar Sabha, Sikh Students Federation and Lawyers Brotherhood. Further, in Pathankot, the Punjab-Haryana High Court lawyers and retired police officers staged a sit-in at Malikpur Chowk. They were showing support for the peasant movement in Pathankot-Amritsar National Highway. The protesters also demanded for an investigation between Deep Sidhu and the central government. The Kheda border in Rewari, Haryana saw a huge farmers’ strike. Here people from Petrol Pump Association submitted a memorandum to DC. Also they demanded for the evacuation of highway. There was also announcement of march of farmers to the parliament. So metro service was suspended for eight hours for four stations including three stations in Bahadurgarh . About one and a half million passengers had to face problems. Although the peasant leaders had already withdrawn this declaration.
Panchayats and villagers of village Sidhana of Lakkha Sidhana, a youth named by Delhi Police, passed a resolution on Sunday on 26 January in the Red Fort incident.
