The Stonehenge

The Stonehenge was once a beautiful ring made of stones on the plain of Salisbury, England. The largest blue stones were probably brought from Wales. Part of the stone structure was built by people who established their principal settlements between 1300 and 1600 BC.

The Stonehenge has haunted the human imagination for 4,000 years. It is one of the most famous prehistoric sites in the world. In 1965, astronomer Gerald Hawkins said that the purpose of the rocks was to tell the movement of the sun and moon but is still one of the Medieval Wonders of the World.
