Rainbow Natural Bridge, also known as Rainbow Bridge, is a natural rock span 275of salmon-red Navajo sandstone arching over Bridge Canyon. Spanning 275 feet, the Rainbow Bridge is the largest natural bridge in the world.
It is located about 12 miles northwest of Navajo Mountain in broken and deep canyon of southern Utah, USA. Millions of years ago, Bridge Creek’s zig-zag meandering through Rainbow Natural Bridge cut a whole through it.
Rainbow Bridge is probably the most accessible of the large arches of the world as it can be reached by a two-hour boat ride on Lake Powell or by hiking several hours from the Navajo Nation.
Rainbow Bridge is considered sacred by the Navajo culture as a symbol of deities responsible for creating clouds, rainbows and rain – the essence of life in the desert
