Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi is in Tamil Nadu on a two-day tour. Rahul often attacks the central government on various issues. On Sunday, he questioned the Modi government on the issue of inflation.
Rahul attacked the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the rising prices of LPG, petrol and diesel. He also commented on Farmers’ issue. Rahul said that instead of listening to the problems of farmers, Modi government calls them terrorists.
Rahul Gandhi tweeted and said, “Modi ji has shown tremendous growth in the prices of gas-diesel-petrol! People are affected by inflation. Modi government is busy in tax collection”.
With his tweet, the MP from Wayanad also shared image of a newspaper comparing the rising prices of oil and gas. The image that Rahul shared says that on July 1, 2020, the price per cylinder of LPG in Jaipur was Rs 594.5. However, on January 7, 2021, the amount increased to Rs 698.
On the other hand, in Jaipur on July 1, 2020, the price of diesel was Rs 81.32 a liter. But in January 2021 it is Rs 83.64. Rahul wrote about the prices of petrol as well. On July 1, 2020, the price of petrol was Rs 87.57 which rose to Rs 91.63 on January 7, 2021.
The former Congress president made the remark a day after the rise in prices for the fourth time in a week. Now the petrol and diesel prices in the country are at an all-time high. Significantly, after the increase in prices, the price of petrol has increased to Rs 85.70 per liter in Delhi and Rs 92.28 per liter in Mumbai. Similarly, the price of diesel has been increased to Rs 75.88 per liter in Delhi and Rs 82.66 per liter in Mumbai.
