Former captain of the Indian cricket team Kapil Dev was taken to a hospital in Delhi after suffering a heart attack. He was admitted to the emergency department at the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute located in Okhla Road on Friday.
In a statement, the hospital said Kapil came to the hospital with complaints of chest pain. He underwent angioplasty. However, now his condition is stable, and he will be discharged from the hospital in a few days.62-year-old Kapil Dev reached the hospital at 1 AM. Dr Atul Mathur, director of the Department of Cardiology and his team, is supervising Dev’s health.
According to information received from the hospital, Kapil Dev had a blockage in his heart. Doctors had to perform an angioplasty. It is a procedure in which arterial blocks are opened, and stents are placed there.
Kapil Dev, popularly known as Haryana Hurricane, was the captain of the Indian Cricket Team that won the 1983 World Cup against West Indies. He has inspired thousands of youth of the country to become cricketers.
