IND vs SL Test- A Day of Records: Rishabh Pant, R. Ashwin creates history

Meanwhile, Rishab Pant became the first Indian wicketkeeper to win the Man of the Series award in a Test series. Earlier, Past Indian Wicket Keepers like Syed Kirmani to Mahendra Singh Dhoni could not achieve this remarkable feat.

Rishab Pant’s Knock

Rishab Pant scored a total of 185 runs in three innings of the Test series. During this, his average was 61.67. Moreover, he also scored two half-centuries. During his wicket-keeping duties, he took five catches and made three stumps. At the age of 24, so far only three wicketkeepers have received the Man of the Series award. However, he is the third wicketkeeper on the list. Before him, Allan Nott of England and Moin Khan of Pakistan got this award till the age of 24 years.

R. Ashwin equals Shane Warne

Apart from Rishab Pant, Ashwin made a special achievement in his name. He equaled the late Australian star Shane Warne in terms of winning the match by taking the last wicket. Warne and Ashwin won the team 22 times by taking the last wicket of a match.

Dimuth Karunaratne makes two records

Dimuth Karunaratne is the current Sri Lankan captain. Moreover, he scored a brilliant century in the second innings of the Test match. He played a brilliant inning of 107 runs. Further, he became the first opener in the world to score a century in the fourth innings of a Day-Night Test.
