A fire broke out in the darbar of Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra on Tuesday. It happened near counter number two near Kalika Bhawan. Authorities had to carry out a massive rescue operation to control the fire. The distance of the place where the fire started is about a hundred meters from the main shrine cave. Fire Flames were visible till Bhairon Valley.
According to the information, the fire broke out due to a short circuit in the counting room near the VIP gate. Soon it spread and took an intimidating form. Immediately after starting the rescue work, the officials informed the officials of the Shrine Board.
The fire wing personnel of the board also reached the spot and started dousing the fire. After much hard work, the fire wing personnel brought the fire under control. As per sources, there has been a loss of lakhs of rupees in this fire.
Significantly, since March, the number of devotees of Vaishno Devi Yatra started increasing as soon as the government removed the corona curfew. Earlier, the yatra remained sluggish due to the corona pandemic.
While in May, 1000-1500 devotees visited the shrine, in June the daily figure has reached between 2000-3000. This has bought happiness in lives and faces of the businessmen around the area as well.
Reportedly, on Friday, around 2500 devotees had registered and visited the shrine of Maa Vaishno. On the other hand, by 7 pm on Saturday, about 3500 devotees had left for the building. Devotees could use the Helicopter and battery car services which were restored on Saturday. With this, the city of Dharma has started reverberating again along with the journey route with the cheers of Maa Vaishno.
