Delhi Doorstep Delivery Of Ration Scheme Banned By Central Government

The Central Government has put on hold an ambitious scheme of the Delhi Government. From March 25, the Delhi Government would have started its doorstep delivery of the ration scheme. However, because of the center’s decision, there is quite a political uproar.

Reports suggest that the Delhi Government had even issued a tender for the scheme. After this, the Center reminded that such scheme is under the jurisdiction of the Central Government. The Delhi Government shouldn’t try to change it.

Earlier, the name given to the scheme was Chief Minister’s house-to-house ration scheme. The Aam Aadmi Party even took their anger against the Center by tweeting about this incident. The AAP accused the Modi government of supporting the ration mafia.

Further, the Delhi Government was planning to start the scheme much earlier. Most biometric machines at ration shops were not operational. The scheme was delayed for this reason. The house-to-house ration scheme would have provided ration to about 17 lakh households. The Delhi government would have covered all the 70 assemblies.

This doorstep delivery ration scheme wouldn’t have stopped the earlier quota for the ration of the people. Delhi People can avail ration from either the shop or under this new category. The only change was that instead of wheat, the Delhi Government would have given flour.
