Bhartiya Kisan Union’s activists blocked the roads in Surajpur and Jewar on Friday. People who travel through them had to face a lot of trouble. Some farmer’s leaders, were stopped by the police near their houses. Farmers blocked Durga Chauraha in Surajpur and raised slogans against the Central Government. District President Vibhor Sharma said that the central government is not friendly to the farmers while addressing the workers. However farmers are convinced that all three agricultural laws brought by the government are completely anti-farmer. Farmers have been protesting against these laws from last four months. But so far the government is unwilling to withdraw these laws.

Farmers blocked road in Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh

Bharatiya Kisan Union’s members (BKU) blocked roads in Muzaffarnagar on Friday. Subsequently agitating farmers blocked the Delhi-Saharanpur National Highway and the Muzaffarnagar-Deoband road. Sanyukta Kisan Morcha, has called for a nationwide bandh on Friday, which ran from six in the morning to six in the evening. Farmers gave the call for bandh on the completion of four months of the peasant movement on three borders of Delhi – Singhu, Ghazipur and Tikri.

Amritsar-Delhi railway track blocked

Protesting farmers in Punjab blocked the Amritsar-Delhi railway track due to the Bharat Bandh. The Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh of Punjab disrupted the railway lines in Amritsar.

Rail lines disrupted at 32 places

Protestors blocked rail tracks at 32 places in Punjab and Haryana on friday. A railway spokesperson informed that four Shatabdi trains have been cancelled due to the protests and 31 other trains have been halted.

Rahul Gandhi supports India bandh

Meanwhile Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has supported the Bharat Bandh called by the farmers. Rahul Gandhi tweeted that the history of India is a witness that Satyagraha eventually ends atrocities, injustice and arrogance. He further wrote that the movement should be more peaceful in the interest of the country.
