This study by the American Heart Association found that regular consumption of avocado can be especially healthy for you. If you eat this fruit at least twice a week, then the risk of heart diseases can be lower than other people.

Studies have found that eating avocado fruit is helpful in making you feel full for a long time. This also reduces your urge to overeat. In such a situation, it can also be beneficial in controlling weight.

What did the study find?

The 30-year study included more than 68,780 female and 41,700 male participants aged 30-55. All participants were US residents. They were free of problems such as cancer, coronary heart disease and stroke at the start of the study.

In this 30-year research, scientists registered 9,185 cases of coronary heart disease and 5,290 strokes in these participants. In the conclusion of the research, experts found that participants who consumed avocado even twice a week had a lower risk of many types of heart-related problems.

“Our study provides evidence that intake of plant-derived unsaturated fats may improve dietary quality and prevent cardiovascular disease,” said study lead author, Lorena S. Pacheco, professor at the Harvard T.H. Chen School of Public Health. Fruits like avocado are a better example of this. Avocado consumption in the US has also grown rapidly over the past 20 years. Everyone should definitely include it in the diet.
