America’s Chief Medical Adviser Suggests Lockdown for a Few Days To Control Second Wave In India

The second wave of corona infection in India is a matter of concern for the entire world. Dr. Anthony S. Fauci is the chief medical adviser to the US President Joe Biden’s administration. He said, India needs immediate closure for a few weeks to break this chain. At this point implementing a lockdown will be a measure of control over COVID.

In an interview to an English newspaper on Friday, Dr. Anthony S. Fauci said that the spread of corona infection continues in India. People are worried about oxygen and beds in hospitals. There is black marketing of drugs. However, people seem completely helpless. They do not understand anything at this time.

“India is currently going through a tough time because of the uncontrollable corona. In such a situation, government needs to do something immediately to control the pandemic. There is a need to put a lockdown in the country for some time”.

Need To Intensify Vaccination Campaign

Dr. Fauci also stressed on intensifying the vaccination campaign. He said that if the government had speeded up the vaccination drive a few weeks ago, they could have been curbed the infection to a great extent. Because there is chaos in India at this time, people are running with oxygen cylinders on the streets. There are also long queues outside hospitals.

Mandatory To Set Up Commission

Dr. Fauci has also worked with seven US presidents in the past. He said that there is also a need to set up commissions for medical oxygen in India. It will ensure oxygen supply and supply of medicines.
