A Village in India that Celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi and Muharram Together

India is a country of diversity. People belonging to different regions, who speak other languages and follow different religions live harmoniously in the country.This story is from Bidnal area in Hubli of Karnataka. People of this district have been setting an example for communal harmony for years. They celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi and Moharram together in the same Pandal.

Actually, in every 30-35 years dates of both the festivals collide. So, the people of this village decided to come together to celebrate them.Religion brings people together. People of this village have proved it right. Mohan, a resident of the town, says, “This used to happen earlier as well, but now people are trying to take the tradition forward”.

While Maulana Zakir Qazi says, “The dates for Muharram and Ganesh Chaturthi every 30-35 years, in this village there are no Hindus or Muslims. We are all children of God. “The images of the Pandal where Muharram and Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated together are viral on social media. People are celebrating the spirit of togetherness and communal harmony.
Indeed, this is the essence of India.
